Christmas Greetings

Even after having a Segway for over 3 years, I continue to be awed by the machine and what it still does for me. I was able to travel to the mall (by myself-eleven days after gall bladder surgery and still recuperating), brave the throng of shoppers and hunt for gifts for others. Three cheers for my continuing independence. This helps make me feel like a 'regular' person.

When I went to Fayette Mall last week, I was approached by one of Lexington's Police Officers who wasn't on his Segway at the time. As we talked I asked him if he had ever chased any crooks on the Segway. He replied that he had. I further asked if he caught them and he grinned and said "Yea, criminals aren't real smart because they don't know that in order to get away, all they had to do was either run up or down some stairs or steps." Funny. Also, I had been told that the Segway patrol in Fayette Mall had decorated their Segways with Christmas lights. Next year, I'm going to deck mine out too. The officer told me that portable battery light packs are available at Lowe's very cheaply.

This Christmas afternoon, Me, my wife and the Segway will be going to a movie theatre. Looking forward to it.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone.
