Bardstown/Midway Fall Festivals

The middle weekend of September we drove to Bardstown, KY to attend the Bourbon Festival. It was a fabulous event. We really enjoy the fall, one reason being that we get to attend the myriad of fall festivals and art fairs in Kentucky.
We were very impressed with the layout of the vendors as well as the displays of the distilleries. There were many food vendors as well. My wife enjoys shopping at the crafts booths and I especially like the food and various treats. I dined on a very good whitefish sandwich as well as a large serving of fried green tomatoes. Excellent fair food.
We also toured the antique and restored car exhibits before heading home (sort of anyway). On the way home we decided to stop at Midway, KY to visit the Midway Fall Railroad Festival. They call it a 'Railroad' festival because Midway is a small town that has a railroad running right down the middle of town. Or rather, the town grew up along the tracks. It was a beautiful sunny day. There were several wine tasting booths at the festival giving out samples from local wineries. I had to partake of their good hospitality. After all, it would have been somewhat rude not to. One thing I've learned though is that by having MS and the lack of balance problems that go with it, I should not partake of very much in the nature of
alcoholic beverages.
Good thing I have the Segway to hold on to ;-)
