I've been flummoxed!
Well, it's been almost a month since my last post and a lot has happened since then which has worked on my feeble mind - BIG TIME!
1)The Bioness L-300 (foot drop system) - It has been working remarkably well. I have used it to walk into several places that I used to Segway in before, including my own back yard. Feels great, 'cept it didn't take too long for me to miss mobilating (my original word-not in Websters' Dictionary) about on the machine.
2)Been told about stem cell replacement done over the big puddle which, for lot of people, has had an unbelievably positive impact on their MS. I've been checking out one particular clinic in Germany (which uses stem cells taken from unborn lambs), which has been using the therapy for several years (why not in the US? - to me it might hint at the inferior health system that the richest nation on earth has in place) Makes me further wonder what the ratio of military spending to health care funding exists in these other countries vs. the US might be. Interesting thought.
3)Less use of the Segway - related to #1. - I have been using it much less as a means to get about inside various facilities, such as church, movie theaters, and restaurants. I still am (and expect to continue using it in larger stores such as Wal-Mart, Kroger, Lowe's and Fayette Mall. Although it is great to begin walking again, I do terribly miss not using it everywhere. To add to my feelings, I also have not even been using my canes. In fact, I have actually forgotten where I put them up for safekeeping. However, I don't miss not using a cane at all. Further, I do actually feel almost naked when I go into a facility armed (no pun intended) with only my legs for mobility. Truly weird. It's going to take a very long time to get used to.
